01 — Definition
Echo is an AI Voice Generator app for iPhone and iPad that turns text into natural speech with 67 AI voices in 23 languages, lets you clone your own voice or design a new one from a description, changes recordings into character voices, and creates AI song covers. You stay on your phone. There is no studio booking and no separate desktop tool for the everyday voiceover.
Text to speech is the core. Voice cloning, Voice Design, the voice changer and AI song covers sit beside it, so a creator can draft a YouTube intro, then try the same line in their own voice, without leaving Echo. Type → pick a voice → set the emotion → generate → share. Echo saves the file on your iPhone so you can reuse it later.

Open the Echo AI Voice Generator app, go to Text to Speech, and type or paste the words you want spoken. Free runs allow up to 500 characters; PRO allows up to 5,000.

Choose one of 67 AI voices, a language (or Automatic), and an emotion such as Happy, Sad or Neutral. You can also add a short style instruction like “whisper excitedly.”

Tap convert, listen on the result screen, then download, favorite or share the file. Every clip is saved in your Playlist on the device.
03 — Text to speech
Open the Voice tab, stay on Text to Speech, and write. Paste from the clipboard, or tap Random for one of 45 English sample scripts — stories, jokes, podcast intros, voicemail greetings, meditation lines and ad copy. Every sample fits under 500 characters, so the free plan can play too.
A live counter shows how much room you have. Free runs stop at 500 characters. PRO reads up to 5,000. Echo checks empty text, the limit, and a banned-word filter before it sends anything.
Need something the chips miss? Type a style note such as “whisper excitedly.” When that box is filled, it overrides the emotion chip. The trust row under generate still reads Quality · Natural · Fast.

67 preset voices: 32 female and 35 male. 28 standard voices run on the free plan. 9 premium character-style voices and 30 multilingual voices unlock with PRO. Preview every voice with a short “Hi, I’m …” sample, even locked ones. Search, filter by female, male or favorites, and pin the ones you reuse.

Free users can select Automatic, English, French, Hindi and Italian. Every other language chip is visible, then opens PRO. When you change language, incompatible voices swap for a compatible one. Language names follow ISO 639 language codes.
05 — Your voice
Cloning is for your own voice, or a voice you have permission to use. Record in a quiet room, speak naturally for 30–120 seconds, and skip background music. Echo uploads the sample once and reuses it. There is no training wait.
The clone speaks these 10 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian. Personal tiles disable when you pick a language they cannot speak. Apple’s accessibility guidance is a useful reminder that speech tools should stay under the speaker’s control.
06 — Invented voices
Not every script wants your clone. Tap Design a Voice and describe it in everyday words — “a calm elderly British narrator,” “a bright kid storyteller,” “a low late-night radio host.” The server accepts up to 500 characters. Echo turns that sentence into a tile you can long-press to edit or remove. Voice Design is PRO and speaks the same 10 languages as cloning.
07 — Beyond typing
Record in the app or upload MP3/WAV. Echo converts it into one of 48 character voices — cartoon, announcer, villain, kid and other types. There are no pitch sliders on the changer; output keeps original pitch as MP3. Generating always needs PRO. The file lands in your Playlist.
Remix uses the same 48 voices. Upload a song, pick a voice, choose Original pitch or Male → Female / Female → Male, and export MP3 or WAV. Vocals keep the song’s original language. This is not text-to-music. You bring the song; Echo re-sings it.
08 — Library
The Playlist tab (header: My Music) lists every MP3 and WAV you made — text to speech, voice changer and song covers — newest first. Files stay on the device. There is no cloud sync folder.
